Banten Province's Gender Inequality Index (GII) in 2022 was 0.478, an increase of 0.003 points compared to 2021. The increase in gender inequality was mainly influenced by increases in the dimensions of reproductive health and the dimensions of the labor market.

Abstract

The Banten Gender Inequality Index (GII) for 2022 is 0.478, an increase of 0.003 points compared to 2021 which was 0.475.
The increase in the Gender Inequality Index (GII) was mainly influenced by increases in the dimensions of reproductive health and the dimensions of the labor market.
The increase in the reproductive health dimension was influenced by the increase in the indicator of women giving birth not in a health facility (MTF) and the indicator of women giving birth for the first time aged <20 years (MHPK20). MTF increases from 0.132 to 0.137 in 2022, while MHPK20 increases from 0.254 to 0.261 in 2022.
The increase in the workforce dimension was influenced by the male Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) which increased higher than that of the female. The TPAK for men has increased from 80.16 percent to 81.69 percent, while the TPAK for women has increased from 46.84 percent to 47.17 percent in 2022.
