Banten Export and Import Development, August 2024

A. Export Development

• Banten's export value in August 2024 increased by 4.46 percent compared to the previous month, from US$979.55 million to US$1,023.21 million.
• Non-oil and gas exports in August 2024 increased by 4.88 percent to US$1,021.95 million compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas export value in August 2024 came from the iron and steel goods (HS 72) category, reaching US$107.67 million.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination in August 2024 was the United States with an export value of US$144.98 million.
• Non-oil and gas exports in August 2024 decreased in almost all sectors, except the manufacturing sector. The increase in export value in the manufacturing sector was 5 percent.
• The highest export value of Banten in August 2024 was through Tanjung Priok Port, reaching US$846.97 million.

B. Import Development

• Banten's import value in August 2024 fell 7.75 percent compared to the previous month, from US$3,539.29 million to US$3,265.00 million.
• Oil and gas imports in August 2024 fell 20.28 percent from US$507.82 million in the previous month to US$404.85 million. Similarly, non-oil and gas commodities also experienced a decrease in import value of 5.65 percent to US$2,860.14 million compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas import value in August 2024 came from electrical machinery/equipment (HS 85) which reached US$506.16 million.
• The largest supplier of non-oil and gas imports in August 2024 was China with an import value of US$574.63 million.
• The import value according to the category of use of goods in August 2024 compared to the previous month experienced a decrease in all categories, consumer goods fell by US$39.07 million (13.99 percent), raw/auxiliary goods fell by US$68.32 million (2.79 percent) and capital goods fell by US$166.90 million (20.50 percent).
