Banten Economy in Quarter III-2020 Contraction of 5.77 Percent (y-on-y)

Abstract

Banten's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) based on the prevailing price for the third quarter of 2020 reached Rp. 155.08 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 109.49 trillion.

The economy of Banten in the third quarter of 2020 against the third quarter of 2019 experienced a growth contraction of 5.77 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field experienced the highest growth contraction of 35.82 percent. From the expenditure side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Component of Total Net Export Expenditure, which contracted by 39.05 percent.

The Banten economy in the third quarter of 2020 experienced an accelerated growth of 4.55 percent (q-to-q) in the third quarter of 2020. From the production side, the highest growth was in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field by 26.53 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the components of total net exports which grew by 43.32 percent.

Until the third quarter of 2020 (c-to-c) the Banten economy experienced a contraction of 3.36 percent. From the production side, the biggest contraction in the transportation and warehousing business was 29.09 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest contraction occurred in the Expenditure Component of Total Net Exports amounting to 30.99 percent.

The economic structure of the provinces in Java in the third quarter of 2020 was still dominated by the DKI Jakarta Province which contributed 30.00 percent to the Gross Regional Domestic Product in Java, followed by East Java Province with 25.01 percent, West Java Province at 25.01 percent. 22.24 percent. Meanwhile, Banten Province contributed 6.60 percent.
